Amit Trivedi comes back with another excellent score after DEV D. Aisha is a major achievement for man of the moment Amit Trivedi as the soundtrack moves him into mainstream commercial cinema for the very first time after Aamir & DEV D.

Track 1 is the bubbly and free spirited “Suno Aisha” that is hogging the trailers and promos and rightly so as it promotes the film and main star (Sonam Kapoor) perfectly! Suno Aisha, while sounding like any other track by Vishal-Shekhar, has enough nuances in the interludes and backgrounds that makes it instantly likeable, complete with a captivating pitch change towards the end.

Track 2 “Gal Mitthi Mitthi” is simply mind-blowing! Mithi mithi bol, pulls it off in similar style – the tune seems standard, but it is in the orchestration that Amit Trivedi adds such spark that it becomes incredibly catchy, particularly that shehnai that accompanies almost throughout.

Track 3 “Sham” is a welcome break from the frenetic intensity of the previous song as it is simple and very soothing. Sham is lovely…the way the vocal harmony joins in select places and the overall manner in which a simple guitar adds to the tune…works perfectly.

Track 4 “Behke Behke” ignites with the sound of flamenco dancing and a stunning (flamenco) guitar. Before you can blink Amit has reverted to his experimental mad-cap philosophy to music and what follows is an amazing fusion of sounds. Behke behke is nothing short of a pulsating celebration of sorts – that punchy orchestration…that vaudevillian sound and Anushka Manchanda’s superb vocals…absolute delight!

Just when you thought things couldn’t get better Amit takes you back to one of his most haunting tracks “Ek Lau” from Aamir (2008), with the sound of some beautiful piano plucking. Thus commences the most melodious song of the album, Track 5 “Lehrein” . Anusha Mani towers above other singers in the mellow Lehrein…Amit proves yet again that his magic lies in the way he arranges the songs far more than the tune; even a seemingly standard tune comes beautifully alive.

And then… Track 6 -By The Way! One heck of an alluring song, with Anushka’s enthralling singing in a brilliantly energetic rock package. Composer Amit Trivedi is here to stay; his Aisha proves that beyond any doubt by being supremely entertaining!

Tracks 7 and 8 are Gal Mitthi Mitthi (The Bombay Bounce Dhol Mix)” and “Lehrein Remix (The Bombay Bounce Lounge Mix)” are remixes by DJ Lloyd and Discreet. Both remixes are subtle and give due respect to the originals.

Music  of Aisha is cool &  fun, has tons of variety and is an extremely colourful and experimental. The  soundtrack defines the new-age music we have come to associate with Amit Trivedi. A must buy!
